Valencia land second attacker
Valencia announced the arrival of a second striker, less than 24 hours after confirming the arrival of Loren, as they announced the arrival of Turkish youngster Ali Akman. The 19 year old full international has signed a 4 year deal with the Spanish club, another bosman signing as he joins the club from Bursaspor.
Starting his career with the Süper Lig club, Akman originally broke through in the Under 21 team back in 2018, before becoming part of the first team set up and featuring on the bench several times for the first team. He made his full debut the following season, in a 3-1 defeat against Karagümrük, coming off the bench for the last 13 minutes, before starting and scoring the following weekend in a 2-1 win over Akhisarspor. He went on to make 20 appearances and scored twice in his first full season with the seniors. Last season he was once again heavily involved, making 31 appearances and scoring an impressive 15 goals in the league, form which was enough to see him called up for the national team, making his debut against Bosnia & Herzegovina in March. He featured in the following two games in the same international break, grabbing his first senior international goal against Finland in a 2-0 win in the World Cup qualifiers at the end of the month.
His arrival at Valencia has increased speculation that the club could be prepared to let Maxi Gómez leave should another big offer be made for the Uruguayan striker. However, having only recently turned 19 Akman has clearly been signed with one eye on development, with the potential to ease into the first team setup over the coming seasons.Share this:
